Chapter 42, Land Development Code, §42-346 and §42-370 provides the standards, regulations and procedures necessary to change LDC text.

Under what circumstances would I pursue a text amendment request?

You may pursue a text amendment if you wish to conduct a land use activity/activities not permitted under the zoning district applied to your property. You may also pursue a text amendment to a zoning district applied to your property if you wish to alter the dimensional requirements applied by the zoning district. The submission of a text amendment application does not guarantee approval.

How do I request a text amendment?

Text amendments may be initiated by the Board of Commissioners, Planning Board, Zoning Board of Adjustment, Watershed Review Board, Flood Damage Prevention Board, County Manager, Planning Director, Zoning Administrator, or the owner(s) of the property.
