Infusion therapy involves administering medications intravenously. This is done by injecting a needle directly into the patient’s arm. It makes it possible to treat chronic illnesses more effectively because it delivers medication, antibiotics, and/or hydration directly into the bloodstream. If you are infected with the virus that causes COVID-19, your immune system should develop antibodies — proteins that target the virus and aid in its removal. Some COVID-19 patients are more prone to develop severe symptoms and may require hospitalization. Receiving an antibody infusion therapy at Advent or Pardee Health has been demonstrated to benefit those with qualifying conditions. Henderson County’s Board of Commissioners voted to use up to $500,000 of the county’s ARPA funds on infusion clinics at AdventHealth Hendersonville and Pardee Hospital. Henderson will pay up to $250,000 in staffing costs for the infusion clinics through June 30, 2023.
