Volunteer Services

We welcome and rely on the involvement of our community as we carry out our mission.

Most of our volunteers help with programs that provide services or resources for our needy citizens such as foster child sponsorship and yard work for disabled or senior adults. Many groups donate specific items that are needed or provide the funds for special needs. Volunteers also assist with language translation and interpretation. Many individual volunteer and volunteer groups such as churches, schools, and civic clubs given their time, talent, and resources to assist our staff meet the needs of the people we serve. Some volunteers help in-house with filing, shredding, and other clerical tasks as well as with special projects such as file room management, computer graphics, and data entry. You can help improve the lives of many throughout Henderson County by volunteering or through financial support.

Here are some of our fund raisers:

  • Share the Magic- For years our Children with Special Needs Fund was the
recipient of the Hendersonville Business and Merchants Association's fundraiser,
"Share the Magic." Monies raised supplement our Children's Fund, 100% of which
goes directly to supply needs of abused and neglected children for whom there
    is no other resource.
  • Toy Run- Henderson County Law Enforcement, area motorcyclists, Christians
of Henderson County, and Fletcher Parks and Recreation sponsored the fifth

annual Toy Run every year. The Toy Run benefits abused, neglected, and
    dependent children.
  • Holiday Activities- Our foster children, needy families and elderly/disabled
received food and gifts during the holidays through the generosity of The
Community Foundation, The Salvation Army, the Toy Run, Civic, business, and
church groups and individuals. These are only the highlights of the outpouring
of donations and services offered by our caring community, especially during
    the holidays.
  • Spectrum Youth Home- You can also assist the youth home by providing
tickets for community events, and movies or tutoring for the children. Also, we're
always accepting recreational items for the children such as board games, sports
equipment, age appropriate videos, school supplies, etc..
